Zoe Elford

Fluid arts is a form of abstract that that uses acrylic paints with a runny (fluid) consistency. The paints react with each other when combined together to make interesting and beautifully aesthetic patterns.

Zoe’s technique begins with thinning down the paint suing paint conditioner and water. By mainly using the puddle pouring or the ‘dirty flip cup’ technique, Zoe puts the paint in cups and pierces a hole which allows the various paints to seep through onto the canvas. After this process is completed Zoe then rotates, flips and turns the canvas to move the paint. A blow torch is usually used to assist with this process which forces more colours and patterns to the surface.
